What we do....

We aim to address the specific needs of each organisation, empowering you to achieve your mission and make a meaningful impact in your community.
We strive to support an organisation to develop and overcome barriers to make your volunteers lives easier so they can focus on the goal of the organisation rather than administering the money and stressing about running the organisation!
Budgets & Boards offers practical finance, management, and governance support for the very small community and social enterprise organisations.
Our services offer straightforward guidance and practical support in affordable packages to support the unique needs of a small group. Support is tailored to suit your specific needs.
Who we are...

I set up Budgets and Boards as I am passionate about the important role that community groups play in supporting people and strengthening local communities. There are many wonderful individuals of all ages around the country who give their time to help others because they believe in the power of kindness and collaboration.
That is also what motivates me to do what I can to support small community and voluntary organisations who are achieving great things, often with limited income and resources.
I have worked in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector for 25 years, supporting small groups and working as a manager within registered charities. During that time I have gained an understanding and varied experience of the different elements involved in running and setting up a charitable organisation; including fundraising/bid writing, financial management, governance, business planning, project management, organisational learning and mentoring.
I have also volunteered as a board member, a treasurer and a fundraiser for different organisations, both registered charities and small local groups. That enables me to appreciate what it feels like to be a volunteer with various competing demands upon me but not necessarily with access to the expertise or time to learn.
In addition I spent 10 years working as a book-keeper for small businesses, doing the payroll and accounts. This sometimes involved paper records before the days of computer accounts programmes!
I enjoy helping people to grow and develop as individuals particularly within the supportive environment of a group. I have often found the support of others to be critical in my own life’s journey and want to help others to experience that supportive journey to reach their unique potential. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your organisation and helping to develop your valuable skills and activities.
